Specializing in brief and longer-term psychotherapy with individuals who wish to create lasting, positive changes in their lives and relationships. My personal style is interactive, empathic, and respectful of individual values and choices.
I am bicultural and enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I especially enjoy working with younger adults (20s-30s), women in midlife, and those who are new to therapy. I have extensive experience working with young professionals, especially law students, attorneys, and IT people.
Some of the issues I can help with are depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and grief (specialized training and experience in grief counseling).
I can provide the practical and emotional support needed during challenging life-stage transitions.
Therapy can provide a place to explore thoughts and feelings you might not feel free to share with friends and relatives, for whatever reason. It is also a safe, nonjudgmental setting for you to discover and change unconscious thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors may be interfering with your goals, relationships, and personal growth.
I use a combination of methods to help individuals improve coping with immediate stressors and work toward deeper personal growth. These include:
- cognitive-behavioral techniques
- mindfulness-based stress reduction
